Neuroscience research being done to understand how trauma affects the brain and Traumatic events can be big or small, but they all induce some measure of a sense of powerlessness, fear, recurrent feelings of shame, guilt, rage and disconnection and result in being in a constant state of alertness that can impair health, behavior and cognition as well as poor interaction with others.
